As high school students begin to position themselves for their future, there are many unanswered questions about what lies ahead. Junior Achievement’s high school programs help students make informed, intelligent decisions about their future, and foster skills that will be highly useful in the business world.

 

JA Company Program

JA Company Program® unlocks the innate ability in high school students to fill a need or solve a problem in their community by launching a business venture and unleashing their entrepreneurial spirit. The program focuses on Company Ops, the majority of meeting time, where students build and manage their business. Meeting-specific, student-friendly materials and resources increase student interaction and emphasize JA’s experiential approach to learning.

 

JA Be Entrepreneurial

JA Be Entrepreneurial® introduces students to the essential elements of a practical business plan and then challenges them to start an entrepreneurial venture while still in high school.

Students will learn about advertising, competitive advantages, financing, marketing, and product development.

JA IT'S MY BUSINESS

JA It's My Business!®  provides middle and high school students an opportunity to learn how to turn an idea into a business. The program introduces students to the process of design thinking as a problem- solving process and provides an authentic entrepreneurial experience for students with each session building toward a product-pitch competition.

 
 

JA Finance Park®

JA Finance Park helps students build a foundation upon which they can make intelligent lifelong financial decisions, including those related to income, expenses, savings, and credit. At the culmination of this flexible teacher-led program(JA curriculum provided), students visit JA Finance Park, a realistic on-site or virtual community, to put into practice what they've learned by developing and committing to a personal budget.

JA Launch Lesson

JA Launch Lesson™ is a point-of-entry program delivered by community entrepreneurs. Students gain firsthand knowledge about starting a business and the entrepreneurial journey. The purpose of a JA Launch Lesson is to engage students in an inspirational experience that explores entrepreneurship and highlights the opportunities, challenges and preparation required for success.

 

JA Pitch judging

As a JA Judge, you will put on your best “Shark Tank” impression, and watch the student business pitches to score them on their Entrepreneurial Idea and Presentation Skills using a Scoring Guide provided. You will also ask questions to help them hone their idea and provide feedback on the presentation.

JA Personal Finance ® 2.0 allows students to experience the interrelationship between today’s financial decisions and future financial freedom. To achieve financial health and wellness, they learn about money-management strategies, including earning, employment and income, budgeting, savings, credit and debt, consumer protection, smart shopping, risk management, and investing

JA Career Success

JA Career Success® equips students with the knowledge required to get and keep a job in high-growth industries. Students will explore the crucial workplace skills employers seek but often find lacking in young employees. Students also will learn about valuable tools to find that perfect job, including resumes, cover letters, and interviewing techniques.

JA TAKE STOCK IN YOUR FUTURE™

JA Take Stock in Your Future introduces high school students to the stock market. This program may include two components: a classroom curriculum, and for many participants, the JA Stock Market Challenge competition event

The JA Stock Market Challenge educates high school students about investing and trading in the stock market in a hands-on, high tech virtual simulation of the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. The program includes the JA Take Stock in Your Future curriculum prior to the event. The event is typically is two weeks with a celebration on the last day where the winning team or person is awarded. This year we will be hosting this event virtually with the help of Zoom and PayGrade website / app.
